Message From The President

Right now is a very exciting time to be a student at Western Technical College (WTC). In the past months, several of our community based Program Advisory Boards have met, informational and certified training and National employer visits have taken place in both the Welding and Electronics departments. In the coming months, students will have the opportunity to attend more National Employer presentations, and last, but not least to bid success and farewell to fellow graduating classes.

Advisory Boards
Many professional businesses throughout the El Paso community support the education effort of WTC. Advisory Boards meet twice annually to discuss trends and updates in each program that WTC offers. The Advisory Boards help keep WTC program curriculums current and allow the professional community to have hands on knowledge of what the college offers. In addition, Advisory Boards provide WTC with feedback to continuously improve our programs

Over the past several months, over 90 businesses participated in Refrigeration, Diesel Technology, and IT Program Advisories. Advisory Members toured the campus and offered advice which provides students with the most competitive training  available nationwide.

Community Involvement
Several times a year, WTC proudly participates in events that benefit charitable organizations. On April 30th, WTC hosted Motorfest 2006 at the Plaza Circle Campus. The event benefited the Animal Rescue and Miracle Leagues of El Paso and had over 1400 attendees.

Be sure to keep your ears open for an announcement of the upcoming WTC community involvement activities. We always invite students, employers and community partners to participate with the dedicated staff  of WTC in giving back to our community.

July  Graduation Ceremony
WTC is proud to announce our upcoming graduating class of 2006, at Magoffin Auditorium on July 25th at 7: 00 p.m. WTC would like to thank and congratulate our students for their dedication, and wish them a bright and successful future in their chosen field.
