WTC Celebrates National Health Information Technology (HIT) Week

HIT Bake SaleDuring the week of November 5-11, WTC celebrated National Health Information & Technology Week. This week highlights the critical role that Health Information Manager and Technician professionals play in healthcare today. No matter what area you work in, if you’re involved in health information management (HIM) or health information technology (HIT), your work is vital to delivering quality healthcare. Without the information and privacy and security safeguards you provide, the field of healthcare could not advance.

In gearing up for the celebrations, WTC staff and students coordinated fundraising activities at both campuses. Gina Januarius, HIT Lab Assistant helped out with fundraising through raffles and bake sales and says, “The HIT Department raised over $700.00 to contribute to student activities throughout the week. I encourage those who want to learn more about this week in general to visit www.ahima.org .” For more information about the Health Information Technology Program at WTC call (915)566-9621.
