Boeing & C & E Industrial Give WTC Graduates Insight to Real World
Many local businesses participate in WTC activities coordinated by the Career Services Department by volunteering their time and experience to present important information to students. WTC appreciates all of the businesses that come out to participate in the education and future of these students. Mr. Peter Regalado of C & E Industrial, recently gave a presentation to welding students about drug testing, background checks, driver’s licenses and DUI'S. Mr. Regalado answered questions about dress codes, certifications and wages.
In addition, Joseph Gardea, a WTC HVAC/Refrigeration graduate, and Mark Bell, both of Boeing gave a presentation to the HVAC/Refrigeration students providing information on how to apply for jobs at Boeing. Joseph provided an overview of the job description for a maintenance technician. Mark answered questions concerning background checks and DUI's, advising all students to remember that how you dress for an interview represents yourself….leaving them with a final word of advice, “Dress for Success!”

Newest WTC Admissions Rep has built In Success Story for Recruiting Students
The WTC Office of Admissions has a new representative, Olivia Tapia, that has an interesting history with WTC. Olivia’s husband, David, is a former graduate of WTC’s HVAC & Refrigeration Program. In the past years, David, the Technical Service Manager for Sears, has been an active employer with WTC by presenting information, touring the college, and even recruiting WTC HVAC and electronic students for employment. “Over the years, I’d heard David speak about how pleased he was with the students he’d hired from WTC. I never imagined I would be in a position recruiting a student that could someday, very well be his employee,” says Olivia. Olivia heard through a friend about her new position and says she LOVES it!
