New Program Director for Medical Assisting (MA) Program is Ambitious
Petra York, was recently promoted to Program Director for the WTC Medical Assisting Program. York is certified in MA, phlebotomy, EKG and in pharmacology and is continuing her studies. “I have quite a history with WTC. Twelve years ago, I graduated from the MA Program at WTC and since then, have worked my way through every nook and cranny that the Program has to offer, “York says. “From a Lab Assistant, five years as an Instructor, to a student Externship Coordinator,” she continues, “I bring the hands on experience of working directly with students in the classroom, in the community at health fairs and even with placing students at work sites. I can jump in at anytime needed.” York is very grateful for her new position as Program Manager and says she LOVES her job.
“As Program Manager, it is imperative to inspire, motivate and promote teamwork to Instructors. It’s so important that Instructors are happy and that is something they can take with them into the classroom with our students. WTC wants our students to have a great learning experience! I hope to be a success at that,” she says. York is thankful to her peers that have supported her to get to where she is at and wants them to know, “I will not disappoint them!” she says.
