They will both make excellent additions to our very experienced staff.
The diesel department at the plaza circle campus just received five late model heavy truck diesel engines. These engines all run and will be invaluable to teach students proper tear down, timing and setup. They are all different makes and models including,Cummins,Caterpillar, and Detriot. These are in addition to the seven engines currently being used for training. We also have four road-worthy trucks in the shop for training our students to be shop ready on graduation!
To my knowlege W.T.C. is the only place to offer so many training aids!
On FEB. 16TH 24 New Diesel students started their new careers as diesel technicians. These students will recieve the training they need to become T-1 techs in a field that has a desperate shortage of technicians!Which means the payrate has skyrocketed! The demand is so great that prospective employers tour the college regularly... The college also has a externship program set up to help students get shop experence in a "Real World"setting at the end of their training.
On Feb.9th the Challenge USA Contest for diesel was held at the plaza circle campus of WTC. students from surrounding high schools competed for scholarships here at WTC.
